Who can contribute to this website?

Anyone can. As long as you have an interesting article that fits into one of our many categories and follows our guidelines.

How do I become a guest contributor?

You need to register to become a guest blogger on this website. Becoming a guest blogger on this site is relatively straightforward and you don’t necessarily have to email us in advance.

Can I use the name of a business or product as my pen name?

No, you can’t. It is against our policy for guest contributors to use names other than real names for their registered accounts.

What happens after I register?

You will receive an email notification with the necessary instructions needed to confirm and activate your account. You can then update your profile, password and start submitting your guest articles immediately.

How do I edit my author bio/profile?

Following a successful registration, you may log in to your contributor account to edit your bio at any time. However, note that you MUST still comply with our links policy before, during and after each edit.

Why does the link in my author bio not point to my Website?

Make sure you insert your link in the following format:

<a href=”http://myWebsite”>myWebsite</a>

Note the inclusion of “http://” before the actual Website URL. If this part is omitted, your link will not point to your site.

How do I edit my profile?

Log in and select My Profile in the My Account section of the top navigation. Remember to save all changes.

How do I add a gravatar to my profile?

To add a profile picture to your author bio, please visit gravatar.com where you will need to create an account with the same email address you used in signing up to JosephAO.com. Once you have done so, you can upload your photograph on gravatar.com which will automatically appear on your JosephAO profile.

How do I submit my article for review?

You need to log in to submit your article for review on our website. Once you have logged in, click on My Account in the top navigation. Then,

  1. Click on My Posts.
  2. Click ‘Create New Post’ to create and submit your article for review.

How do I log in?

You will find the link to the log in page in the top navigation area.

How do I add images to my articles?

You can add images to your articles by using the <img> HTML tag.

What happens after I submit my article?

After you submit your guest article, we will receive a notification, and one of our editors will manually review and edit the submitted post if necessary to make sure it fits in with our website. Your submitted post will remain in our pending pool until it has been reviewed. Use the My Posts link to view Pending Posts as illustrated in the image below.

Note that in some cases we may edit your article title without changing the meaning. Following the review, submitted guest articles will either be published or rejected. We don’t have to give any reasons for rejecting an article.

How long will it take for my article to be published?

It can take up to a week for submitted guest articles to be published depending on how many pending articles we have at the point of submission.

I can no longer see my article in the Pending list!

You don’t have to worry.  If you can no longer see your submitted articles in the Pending list, it means that your article has been reviewed and is now scheduled for publishing. We always notify contributors if their article has been rejected or after it has been published so you should hear from us soon after.
